Kent Air Ambulance to the rescue

On the 6th September 2008 Sabre Systems (Heating) Ltd hosted its inaugural charity golf day at High Elms Golf Club in Downe, Kent. Directors and employees were joined on the day by a surprisingly upbeat contingent of customers and manufacturer�s representatives on what turned out to be one of the wettest days on record of any of our lifetimes! If the human race had evolved with upside-down noses we would of all drowned! However, just as the human race has prevailed so too did the golfers, with the determination to overcome mother-nature strengthening our resolve to complete the round and enjoy the day. There was a worthwhile reason for the day though, which was to help raise funds for our nominated charity � the Kent Air Ambulance Trust. Responding swiftly to 999 calls, the Kent Air Ambulance can deliver its highly skilled team of Doctors and Critical Care Paramedics to the scene of an accident or medical emergency within minutes. The Kent Air Ambulance can reach any part of Kent within 15 minutes flying time and can transport patients to the most appropriate specialist unit or nearest major hospital in a fraction of the time taken by land ambulance. Kent Air Ambulance is funded entirely by voluntary donations, receiving no Government, National Lottery or NHS funding. Every penny of the £1.6 million it costs to keep the life saving helicopter in our skies 365 days a year comes from individuals, groups, businesses, companies and clubs from all over Kent. Andy Hammond (Managing Director 2nd right) and Gary Haseltine (Business Manager 2nd Left) were delighted to visit the Kent Air Ambulance headquarters recently to hand over a cheque for £1264.14 which is the end result of our money raising activities during 2008. We were told that it costs £1200 every time the helicopter takes off, so our donation is almost exactly the cost of one rescue mission to help save a life. The Air Ambulance staff were very hospitable and the work carried out by this dedicated team deserves our support. Inaugurated in 2008 in memory of the founder of the company, to promote social and kindred ties between customers and suppliers, fund raising for nominated good causes whilst promoting the fun aspect of the occasion. 2008 High Elms Golf Day 6th September saw the first outing, a contingent of employees of Sabre Systems were joined by customers and manufacturers representatives.

Exciting news

Exciting news � we have on display in our showroom one of Top Gears (yes the television program!) best cars of all time. Could it be the sub zero Bugatti Veyron or the super cool Ferrari 599gt that the lads all rave about? No it is better than all those. Jeremy found the future of personal mobility in the form of the Peel P50 microcar from, er, 1963. When most of us travel to the office we have to park our cars in the basement or use some sort of public transport because we are responsible beings. Not Clarkson. No, Jeremy just drove the tiny Peel through the front doors, into the lift and straight up to the office. It gave Andy such big ideas! Even the Guinness Book of Records officially recognises the Peel P50 as the smallest production car in the World and it is British. The Hammond name has long been associated with these amazing mechanical marvels known as collectively as microcars. The Nation will want to view this most petite member of the collection temporarily back to Sidcup, a place where it was rehabilitated so many years ago.

Our Open day was a resounding success, we thank all our customers for their attendance and hope they learnt, more about us as a company and what we hope to achieve. We were supported by our suppliers, both by attendance and giving prizes for our Free raffle. The first one to be collected was today 3/9/07 by Mr Tony Harvey. Kindly donated by Fernox water treatment products, whilst they were unable to attend they have acknowledged the need to do a breakfast morning in the near future. Sabre Systems new web site

Sabre systems proudly announce the new web site for heating spare parts, tools and consumables has finally been launched. Following on in the thematic design of the Sabre Solar and Sabre Rigs web site, Sabre Spares offers a unique interface with our bespoke Parts database of over 18,000 records. Data is extracted from the database on an hourly basis in .txt format, and transferred to our web server. This reduces server load and does not compromise security as traffic is all one way. This data can then be searched either using a web form - either from the main web site, or there is a slimmed down web page that is specifically designed for the PDA and mobile phones. This is extremely useful for your on-site engineers to aid ordering of parts.
